Tiger has a Message | KPop Art Project

Hand up if you can’t get the songs out of your head? Or maybe you aren’t even trying! Time to turn it up for a KPop art project!

The hit movie KPop Demon Hunters has taken the world by storm, with its visually stunning look and equally catchy tunes. Kids, and parents too, can’t get enough!

This project is inspired by Tiger and Bird, two sidekick companions key to the movie. They have deep ties to Korean mythology, and are just plain fun!

In this KPop art project, we’ll be drawing Tiger and Bird, using alcohol markers to color them, and practice shading and contrast, then adding details with pen. Don’t miss the special message on Tiger’s tongue!

So grab those markers, and let’s bring legend to life through color, contrast, and creativity!

What you'll need:

  • 9 x 12 Heavyweight Paper
  • Pink Cardstock Paper
  • Blue Construction Paper
  • Pencil & Eraser
  • Masking Tape OR Gluestick
  • Alcohol Markers
  • Illustration Pens
  • White Gel Pen

KPop Art Project Instructions

Use a pencil to lightly draw Tiger and Bird, breaking them into simple shapes. Don’t forget Bird’s hat!

With cool color alcohol markers, lightly shade parts of the fur around Tiger’s face, using hatch marks to create texture.

Use gray to color Bird and Tiger’s teeth.

Then color Tiger’s eyes with a gradient of warm colors.

Use a blue marker to color the rest of Tiger, using hatch marks to create the look of fur.

Use a darker blue under his chin and along the edge of the body to create shadow.

Color Bird with black, adding a little extra for his pattern.

Add details to Tiger’s mouth and face with black.

Create a tongue out of pink paper, folding it in thirds upward into a rectangle. Create an envelope with a secret message, and glue or tape it all together.

Add any final background details with markers, and use a white gel pen to add whiskers and other details to Tiger.
