Dragon Egg Art Project

Self-portraits and “how I spent my summer” projects seem to pop up every year. I’m going to confess something – I really disliked the first week of school because of it.

I always went on vacation, but my closest friends did not. And I watched their faces struggle with the idea that they really had nothing to write other than they played in their backyard, while they listened to the rest of us talk about far away adventures.

And self-portraits? I did not want to draw myself. I never wanted to draw myself. And yet it seemed every year I had to.

So I’m changing it up, everyone. No more self-portraits for the first week of school. (If you do a self-portrait of yourself as a dragon, I will allow it.)

This year is different, we all know it. So instead of self-portraits, I present to you: the dragon egg art project.

Markers (I used these), 2 sheets of paper, scissors and glue – that’s it. Best of all, I’ve written the lesson plan in a FREE, and downloadable PDF just for you. Grab your copy below.

PS: Don’t like dragons? Change the dragon egg art project into dinosaurs, reptiles, or birds!
