Easy Spring Bunny Art Project

I’ll be the first to admit that often I hold off on posting here because I need to have something long and wordy. However, this spring bunny art project is quite the opposite. It’s short, sweet, and easy.

It’s just what you need for this springtime.

If you celebrate Easter or any secular variation, then consider the background eggs. If not – think of them as jellybeans. Want to take it further? They can be flower petals or polka dots.

However you decorate the background – even if you fill the entire background with grass, carrots, and flowers, hop on below to download your free drawing guide.

If you want to know what I did with it, read on!

Eggs everywhere…

One fun and easy way to create a springtime background is to cover it with colored splotches. There is something soothing and beautiful about the rainbow colors.

And there’s something even more eye-catching when you do it on black.

These are Ooly’s neon chromablends and I’m not going to lie – these come out almost every time I’m painting a watercolor project. I cannot stay away from the vibrant colors – and that neon coral? That’s my favorite color in the entire world.

Start by covering the entire piece of black paper with paint splotches. Make them oval for eggs, otherwise go for large polka dots. Use a lot of colors – make it an entire rainbow!

When finished, outline the eggs in a white oil pastel, construction paper crayon, or Wonderstix (these are my new favorite art supply). This is an affiliate link if you think you might love them too.

Outline the eggs first and paint second if you’d like to make it easier.

Add polka dots, stripes, or whatever patterns look beautiful on eggs, or leave them solid colors. The Wonderstix color effortlessly on watercolor paint that has dried, or over each other. If you don’t have them, construction paper crayons or oil pastels work great.

Draw adorable bunny on white or a pastel paper and cut out. (Make sure to grab your free spring bunny drawing guide below.)

I used a gray Wonderstix to draw, but you could use anything. You can even color in or paint the inside of the ears.

Glue down, and let out a nice big “awwwwwww”!
